Brittany Negler has been through a lot in her short life. One thing after then next, it seemed like her life had become a rollercoaster that was about to bust off its tracks.

Still, she’s been trying to keep it together and work for the life she wants to have one day.

Brittany needed a new smile.

Both figuratively and literally. Thankfully, her mom shared her story at Dr. Kenny Wilstead’s clinic in Texas. The kindhearted dentist knew he could help her out, and so he did.

All her teeth were pulled out at just 29-years-old. It turns out, this unfortunate situation she was in started when she was a teenager.

She thought she killed her brother.

He was 18 and suffering from Ewing sarcoma, a type of soft tissue or bone cancer. Brittany wasn’t feeling up for school that day, so she went inside her brother’s room and laid beside him.

After 15 minutes, she heard him take a big gasp and stop breathing.

There’s no question she blamed herself.

She thought that she had lain down on his breathing tube, in turn making him lose oxygen.

She went into a dark place because of that. She hung out with the wrong bunch and started doing drugs.

Addiction eventually led her teeth to rot.

Drug abuse is known to damage dental health.

Addiction to drugs can lead to having a dry mouth which increases acidity and ruins the enamel of the teeth.

It can also cause the loss of blood flow towards one’s gums and roots, leading to nutrition deficiency to the teeth.

It was time to come clean.

In rehab, her family asked her what led her to addiction.

She told them about her guilt over her brother’s death. Her family reminded her that it was not her fault and that it was just her brother’s time to go.

This shed some light on her life, and she slowly stopped using drugs.

Brittany was turning a new leaf.

One day, Brittany decided to pick herself up and help herself get back on her feet.

She could see how rotten her teeth were and some were starting to fall out. So, she visited her dentist, hoping that she would find herself renewed.

But her hurdles didn’t end here.

The dentist told her that her teeth couldn’t be fixed and must be pulled out. Yes, all of them!

Imagine the horror of having all your teeth pulled. She was given dentures to fix her “problem,” but they were so big that she couldn’t use them.

Things started to look dark again.

She couldn’t eat and lost a lot of weight in a short span. She started drinking Ensures just to gain back her weight but to no avail.

Brittany was on the brink of falling apart again.

All she wanted to do was eat.

She told Dr. Kenny that she was excited to meet him because she just wants to eat again.

Such a simple desire, but something that also means a lot to her. Going hungry because she can’t eat solid foods, she just wanted to wave the white flag and just get feeding tubes.

She lost a ton of confidence. She struggled to find work because of the condition of her teeth, or lack thereof, but that wouldn’t last long.

Dr. Kenny gave her a dental makeover for free.

Dr. Kenny attached a set of dentures to her gums that fit her this time. After a few hours of operation, it was time for the big reveal.

He gave her a mirror, and you can see the joy in her reaction.

A whole new woman!

Look at her! She looks so much better, and with a smile now, too!

To add to this sweet treat, Dr. Kenny and his wife took Brittany out for dinner to see how the new teeth would handle food.
